Why it's important to use qualified people

Almost everyone relies on a computer of some type on a daily basis; from full-blown desktops to the latest smartphone, computers are helping us keep appointments, check the weather and manage our finances. We're all hooked on them.

But a new problem is now appearing. How many times have you heard someone say, "My mate could fix that for you - he's good with computers"?  Its a growing issue and it's one that causes a lot of headaches.

Think about your domestic heating boiler.  If that needs repairing, you're obliged to use a qualified person to carry out the work.  So why cut corners with your IT.  If you don't engage a qualified and experienced person to fix it, how do you know it's not all going to end in disaster?  Have they learned their trade professionally or just looked online at Google or YouTube?  How do you know how competent they are?

We invest heavily in training, so you can be assured you are getting the correct knowledge and skills with the solutions that we provide.  Certifications are renewed on a regular basis, and we work very closely with manufacturers and partners to ensure that we're always up to date with their latest technology.

So next time someone offers to fix an IT problem for you, make sure you find out just how qualified they actually are.  As with most things in life, when you buy cheap, you buy twice.

Here's one of our favourite quotations:

"It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, all you lose is a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought is incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it's well to add something for the risk you run; and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better".
