Now that iOS4 has been released, all of our apps have also been upgraded and released to the App Store and are available as a free upgrade.
NavigX Touch is now at version 2.1.3, which takes advantage of the new multitasking features on the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4. There will be a new release of NavigX Touch, version 2.2 in the very near future. We need to test it on the iPhone 4 prior to release, so you can expect that in the near future.
NavigX Lite, now at version 1.2, has also been updated to cater for multitasking and version 1.3 will follow in the next week or so. Although NavigX Lite has fewer features than it's bigger brother, some of the new features found in NavigX Touch v2.2 will be available in NavigX Lite v1.3, the most notable being the new SOS system.
Finally, Lakeland Fells has been updated to v1.1 which adds in the support for multitasking. We've had a lot of feedback on Lakeland Fells which has been encouraging so we are going to take development forward on that. We've some new features that we are going to add in which will hopefully make it more useful whilst you're out in the hills as well as catering for a wider audience. Lakeland Fells v1.3 will be in the App Store in time for the Summer Holidays.
We'll update each App's details in their specific areas on the site so please keep watching! If you would like more information or have comments about the apps, please don't hesitate to let us know. |

June 2010 sees the start of our relationship with Cumbria Magazine and promotion of our iPhone app, Lakeland Fells, by sponsoring a walk by Mary Welsh through the Dunnerdale Fells just north of Broughton-in-Furness. We were fortunate enough to get a sneak preview of the walk before it went to press so we used it as part of the testing process for NavigX Touch v2.2.
Given the clear but cold weather at the beginning of May, the weather couldn't have been better and the new versions of the apps performed well. Many of our users have requested new features for the new versions and Lakeland Fells receives a bit of a facelift as well as some additions.
The link between Lakeland Fells and NavigX Touch grows stronger with iPhone OS 4.0 so if you're checking out Lakeland Fells, you'll be able to explore them with NavigX Touch.
We highly recommend the walk around Dunnerdale in this month's issue of Cumbria and if the weather was as good as we had it, you'll be in for a treat. You can find out more about Cumbria Magazine here. |

With the forthcoming release of iPhone OS 4.0, NavigX Touch is set to become even more indispensable.
We've been working on new features for NavigX 2.2 for some time and these are more or less complete now so we can concentrate on optimising NavigX Touch for iPhone OS 4.0 to bring you a much more usable experience.
The new features within iPhone OS 4.0 are still deemed to be confidential by Apple so we can't go into them too much as yet, but we'll add some of the new features in NavigX Touch to the wishilst so you can see what is coming.
iPhone OS 4.0 will only run on the iPhone and iPod Touch and it is NOT compatible with the iPad so we are going to develop two versions of NavigX Touch from now on. The iPad version will cost a little more but you'll see why when it is released. It's NavigX but not as you know it!
In the meantime, there will probably be one more maintenance release of NavigX Touch 2.1. This should address a couple of features that some users have requested which we were going to build in to NavigX Touch 2.2. NavigX Touch 2.1.3 should be in the App Store within the next two weeks. |

Lakeland Fells v2.0 provides the position and information about each fell in The Lake District as well as some basic navigation and a brand new feature, View Assist. Born out of development of in-app purchases for NavigX Touch, Lakeland Fells links in to NavigX Touch if you have it installed, providing you with a seamless link to navigate your way through Cumbria and The Lake District. Lakeland Fells also allows you to record your ascents of the fells and even store pictures of each fell.
Since its launch, we've received over 1000 downloads and user feedback has resulted in many new features in development for future versions. The most recent release brings you another first in iPhone development with much more to come in the next release. Please keep the feedback coming - we can't shape the app without you!
Lakeland Fells is now available on the App Store priced at £0.59 ($0.99).
