So, what is NavigX? NavigX was the first application designed for the Mac which converts between Ordnance Survey Grid References and Latitude/Longitude co-ordinates. NavigX application offers a range of features from basic one-off conversions to the import and export of Comma Separated Value (.CSV) files for conversion. If you're working in another document, you can also use the new Copy and Paste operations embedded in the application. NavigX has been designed to be simple to operate; even the copy and paste operations do a lot of the work for you so you don't have to break your coordinates up. All of the operations are covered in more detail within the guides below. If you have a lot of conversions to perform, copying and pasting can be a chore so there is a new Batch Conversion feature where lots of OS Grid References and Latitude/Longitudes can now be converted quickly by means of an imported CSV file. If you're importing CSV files then you can have a file full of OS Grids, Lat/Longs or a mix of both. When you export your conversions, all of your original data will remain intact. NavigX for Mac v1.1 has now been submitted to the Mac App Store and is available from there at an introductory price of £1.79/$2.99 until the release of v2.0 in the very near future. This price has been set to provide existing users with a low-cost upgrade to the App Store version and free updates to future versions without having to pay the full price for v2.0 when it is released. The guides below will take you through getting the most out of NavigX; from the most basic operations to complex batch conversions, everything should be reasonably straightforward. We are always receptive to new ideas and features so if you find that NavigX doesn't quite do something the way you want, just drop us a line and we'll see if we can incorporate your wish into a future release. PLEASE NOTE: Minimum version of OS X required is now OS X 10.6.6 Snow Leopard as NavigX for Mac is now ONLY available for download through the Mac App Store. |
