You can find all of the settings for NavigX Touch 2.0 by clicking the Settings icon on the main page. Scroll down the list and you'll see the NavigX icon there. Touch that cell and it'll open up to look like the image on the left. In the "General" section you've got a range of options. These are: Conversion Type - Choose from a range of conversions; Ordnance Survey Grid (Great Britain), Ordnance Survey Grid (Ireland), Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM), Military Grid Reference System (MGRS) or United States National Grid (USNG). This is your preferred conversion. Display Conversion - Switching this to "ON" will display all coordinates in the grid system that you have selected under Conversion Type. Lat/Long Format - You can choose how Latitude and Longitude coordinates are displayed. 3 methods are available, these being Degrees, Minutes and Seconds (DD˚ MM' SS.SS"), Degrees & Decimal Minutes (DD˚ MM.MMMM') and Decimal Degrees (DD.DDDD˚). OS Grid Precision - Grid precision is selectable between 6-, 8- and 10-figure grid references. This only applies to Ordnance Survey Grid coordinates for Great Britain and Ireland. Precision is not yet selectable for UTM, MGRS or USNG. Tracked Points - When you're navigating using NavigX Touch 2.0, the route that you take is stored as a track history. Depending on how much memory you have available or how much history you'd like to retain, you can select how many points to keep track of. There are three settings here simply Low, Medium and High. Low keeps the tracked points to a minimum which keeps the database small which results in faster running of the app. Tracking Rate - The tracking rate is selectable again to suit how smooth you'd like your route to be drawn. The lower the setting, the smoother the route. For most walking, a setting of 1 with Tracked Points set to "Low" should give you a smooth route with around 4 hours of track history. So, that's the basic settings in a nutshell. |
