The first time you select the 'Navigate' screen, you'll be prompted to select a point from your waypoint directory. Once you've selected the point, you'll see the displays start to populate. Heading will populate more or less straight away but you won't be able to navigate with the iPhone until it has got a good position fix so you'll need to wait until you see the accuracy figure drop below 50 yards/metres. Once stabilised, you'll see other displays start to fill in and the time elapsed counter will start to count. After 30 seconds, the Average Speed and Time To Go fields will be populated and your iPhone should reflect what you're doing at that moment in time. Current Speed isn't an instantaneous display but an oversampled running average, sampled over a period between three and five seconds, depending on your speed and the current positional accuracy. Don't worry if you don't see the Course field populate until you start to move. This is the calculated GPS course that you're taking so you need to be moving in order for that to register. As you approach your destination, you'll be given a prompt from the iPhone. You can configure how close to your destination you need to get before the warning is triggered in NavigX Touch's Settings. If you need to change your destination at any point, just touching the 'Destination' cell will pop up the picker and you can select a new destination. |
