Bluetooth Waypoint Sharing has now landed in the App Store for both NavigX for iPad and NavigX for iPhone. You can now use NavigX on your iPad to send your waypoints to NavigX on another iPad or even NavigX on another iPhone very easily.
Following the release of NavigX for iPad, we've had a fantastic uptake and some very original feature requests so we're only too happy to oblige. So "macbloke", we've listened to your feedback and we hope that you like what we've done!
We're testing NavigX for iPad v1.2 and NavigX for iPhone v2.5 at the moment and they are both shaping up to bring you some great new features making them even more useful when you're preparing your routes and when you're out in the hills.

NavigX for iPad, the world's first Ordnance Survey grid reference (OS Grid) converter for the iPhone and iPod Touch, now has a new version for the iPad available for download in the App Store.
NavigX for iPad builds on everything we've learned from NavigX for iPhone over the past three years and takes it to the next level. It is more designed as a means to plot your days in the hills through an easier to use conversion interface as well as having a hook in to WebTrack, the newest feature built in to NavigX for iPhone.
Version 1.0 of NavigX for iPad is the baseline release which has a basic function set. It allows users to build their Waypoint Directory for NavigX for iPhone much more easily and will also import the current email exports of NavigX for iPhone.
We'll be adopting the same approach to development with NavigX for iPad as we have with all of our other releases so your user feedback is vital to us. Please keep it coming and you'll benefit from the ultimate set of navigation tools on your iPad and iPhone.

NavigX Touch has now been renamed to NavigX for iPhone to distinguish it between the app for the iPhone and the app for the iPad (which is coming very soon). In version 2.2.1 of NavigX for iPhone, there have been some changes to the way locations are presented to you and also some subtle differences in some of the screens. We are also very pleased to launch WebTrack in this new version as this will bring a new dimension in safety for anyone using the app "in the wild".
WebTrack is a user-selectable feature which will report your position to a server on the Internet and it will allow you to grant a contact the ability to see your position. It is selectable for who gets to see your position and also for how long and you can switch it on or off at will.
When NavigX for iPad comes online, you'll be able to track multiple contacts by using WebTrack, provided you have an internet connection. We see this as being ideal for anyone who is organising an event in the hills such as a fell run or organised walk.
WebTrack has very basic functionality in v2.2.1 as we are looking at how well the current server copes with the load but NavigX v2.3 for the iPhone and iPad will open up a whole load more functionality. We're quite excited about it, really! |

NavigX Touch has received so many downloads we have now updated NavigX for Mac to use several of the new features found in NavigX Touch and also some new features that are coming in the next version of NavigX Touch and NavigX for iPad.
With the launch of the Mac App Store today, purchasing NavigX for Mac will be as simple as purchasing NavigX on the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.
We're finishing the final testing phase of NavigX for Mac over the next couple of weeks and then it will be released to the Mac App Store for approval. A full review of the new version of NavigX for Mac will be released when the App is live on the Mac App Store. |
